I made some really delicious salmon last night. It came out of its little poaching pouch perfectly cooked; the thick part of the filet was medium rare and it just melted in my mouth like butter. I took a picture of it but it didn't turn out great so I'm not going to post it.
I watched Babel last night. It was a beautifully photographed film. It was so silently expressive. The scene on the bus before the shooting and the scene in the dance club were incredible.
Rob was spinning at Chapel again on Saturday so a few of us went there for some drinks. Good times! I was feeling a bit vodka-pickled on Sunday morning. That didn't stop us though from hitting up the Apple store in U-district and drooling over MacBooks and monitors. I think I'm going to splurge and acquire a 23 inch cinema display. My 4 year old 17 inch LCD started feeling inadequate a while ago.
I've been refactoring a lot of old, ugly software lately. Making something pretty out of a tired, old mess is frustrating and a bit tricky, but it can be almost as satisfying as building something pretty from scratch. It's a good thing too because there are always plenty of opportunities for refactoring.
I have to make some big decisions soon. I guess I'm dreading the finalization of it all. I have to put together a portfolio soon too for KMDI. That's going to be a bit of a stretch.
So that's my random update of things. À bientôt.
