My brother already wrote a nice little review of Shortbus. This is such a fantastic film that I must comment separately (I've seen it twice already...)
First of all, the soundtrack is fantastic. I already have it on pre-order so that I have a nice surprise waiting for me when I get back from Toronto next week. My friend Todd is right: Jay Brannan is cute enough to eat in this film. His song "Soda Shop", which he performs live in the film, is cute too.
This film has receieved a lot of flack for being gratuitously sexually explicit [1], but if you think so you're missing the point. For me, Shortbus is a beautiful exploration of sexuality and its relationship with love, and how powerful one's emotional/mental happenings can be in disturbing that space. This is a must see. You'll be forced to look at your own sexuality and experiences with love in the raw, which is ultimately revealing and rewarding.
[1] One scene in the film involves three men belting out the American national anthem into various orifices after the one having his salad tossed recommends that the other two "make more noise."

Keep your mitts off of Jay Brannan. I'm going to marry him one of these days, you just wait. And no, I'm not obsessed. Even though I do know how much he pays in rent.
