Happy 23 to me

Today I turned 23.

It was a slow birthday, but it was nice. My awesome cousin Rochelle, who is just settling in to a new life in Portland, took the train up for the weekend. My parents were also here, so it was a small little family reunion. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner last night and it turned out fantastic. The turkey was perfectly done, if I must say so myself.

I’m starting to get to the age where birthdays mean that you have to evaluate where you are and where you’re going and where you want to be. I think that is the major difference between 22 and 23. (Did that not just sound like a line from Dr. Seuss?) Today I feel that I’m in a pretty good spot, but there are a few things that I need to improve on.

  1. Must not lose track of music roots. I should really take guitar lessons.
  2. Must start going to gym again to achieve the insanely chiseled body that I desire. I feel that if I don’t achieve/maintain this at some point in my twenties, I will regret it later on. Maybe I just have a bad case of Adonis complex.
  3. Must create less distance in long distance relationships (friends and boyfriends alike).

Thanks to those who sent me birthday wishes! It was really nice to hear from you. Night night.
