Buying a Turkey
This year I’m celebrating American Thanksgiving in place of the Canadian one. It’s also my first real attempt at cooking a turkey dinner. Last year in Edmonton was a good start, but we all know Nicholas did all the real work. Yeah we do.
I’m going to buy a turkey today at some point. My Mom tells me that frozen turkies are actually better than fresh, so that makes things easier. I have no idea where I would get a fresh turkey. A little bird around 10 pounds should do just fine. I will butter him up and stuff him with rosemary before putting him in the oven, then I’ll take extra care to baste him often while he’s cooking. That reminds me: I need to get a baster.
I went to see a couple bands last night… Kelly Stoltz and Rogue Wave I think they were called. Kelly Stoltz was ok until the last couple songs where the lead singer dude just started sounding awful. Like he had kidney stones or something. Rogue Wave was decent. They played with some interesting time signatures like 6/8 with 4/4 bridges and a whole song in 9/8, so I’ll give that to them. Way to go boys.
