Two Small Experiments
I did two experiments today. The first one determined that I probably need to stop drinking coffee. The second one determined that returning stuff bought online isn’t half as bad as it sounds.
Let’s talk first about the coffee experiment. For some reason I’ve been going through periods lately when I sweat like a mo-fo. And I don’t even feel hot. Crazy, I know. But it’s because of the coffee. Every time I drink coffee now I start sweating like it’s 35 degrees or something. It’s pretty terrible - I don’t really drink coffee at work anymore because I’ll end up dripping on my papers in meetings. Classy. Caffeine apparently causes some people to sweat, and I appear to have become one of those people. This really sucks because I love coffee. Anyway, in a somewhat controlled experiment, I restrained myself from drinking coffee for a few days, then had a cup today after work. As expected, I started getting the coffee sweats again. So, no more coffee for me, at least not during the week. Sad news, hey?
In my second experiment today, I returned my new cell phone that I bought on Amazon. There’s something defective about it and the stupid thing won’t charge. Anyway, I filled out the little form on Amazon.com to tell them I got a crap phone and they set up a replacement order for me that will arrive on Monday, then gave me a pre-paid UPS shipping label so I can return the old phone. So it wasn’t so bad after all. I was expecting it to be a huge pita to return something bought online, but it was easy peasy.
